Exhaustion, Thy Name Is Nicky's Apartment

But we did get a great deal bagged up, all the dressers emptied, some bags taken to the Sally Ann ... and an unsuccessful attempt to take Nick's apartment sized freezer down his incredibly awkward and dangerous backstairs. We had a refrigerator dolly, and our wonderful "daughter" Sarah (FB's non-crazy ex and the most wonderful girl in the world) was helping Bob and Andy, but Andy, who has a lot of experience moving heavy stuff, immediately said, "no, pull it back up" after they'd barely started. "It'll crush our heads." So we'll have to get a pro to move it down and into our place.

We're absolutely exhausted, but I came home, wrote another news story because tomorrow is going to be absolutely horrendous. Deadline day - and I was reminded on Friday that the doctor's appointment I have downtown tomorrow afternoon (because when you go see a specialist with limited hours, you can't say "No, not Monday, I have deadlines on Monday") also includes a double skin biopsy, since I'm part of a study she's doing. It's really minor outpatient stuff, but it does involve taking chunks of me and stitching me up and filling me full of pain meds, so my plans for covering a meeting thereafter are utterly and completely moot. I let my boss know via email today.

And now, I'll totter off to bed.

Also, I saw The Name of the Doctor last night and was completely impressed. It was the first time I really felt fully connected to Clara, plus Riverrrrrrr!!!!!!!! What is it you young people say? Oh, the feels ... but yes indeed, it moved me. And yes, I have loads of questions, but none that lessened my positive response to the story. More, later, I hope?

Got word from my brother about my mum's latest medical status. I think I'll talk about that later.

Next weekend; Wiscon.
