Dept. of Zuzu's petals

Merry Christmas
It's a quarter to two on Christmas morning. There are no lights up at Casa Kaffyr; no tree, no presents. The year hasn't conspired to result in that. Nothing horrible, just a few too many expenses on too few dollars, and a bit more time, attention and energy spent on Bob and his health.

All that's OK. We just finished watching It's a Wonderful Life, and I just finished bawling, and feeling my heart swell a little more than I expected it to this year. And Bob and I embraced, and he told me that's what he needed for Christmas. And it's all I needed, too. And we're lucky because we have so much more than each other. We have our son, and people who love and care about us, and who have helped us in so many ways over the years.

George Bailey's got nothing on us. Bless his soul.

Merry Christmas, my friends, if you celebrate. If you don't, let me wish you the brightest of Yules, and a successful victory over the darkest time of the year. May you be with friends, or family - the ones you love, and who love and support you most. May you be warm and free from want. May you not be afraid. May the gifts you give bring joy, and the gifts you receive as well. May today be good, and the days to come be even better.

A couple of years ago I wrote something connected with It's a Wonderful Life. It's here if you want to read it.
