Hold the Presses

-30-
John Callaway has died, suddenly and too soon. His was the kind of television journalism I could respect - full of intelligence, accuracy, curiosity, care, wit, analysis, fearlessness, and style - and all full of the muscular solidity of the human touch, and the human heart. You can get a small taste of his excellence via clips here at HuffPost.

He was Chicago journalism at its best. I will miss his presence, and my condolences go to his wife, Sandra Callaway; his daughters, Liz Foster Callaway and Ann Hampton Callaway; and his stepchildren.
